A woman who allegedly gave teenagers a “safe place to party” in a barn, has pleaded not guilty to allowing premises to be used for the consumption of alcohol.

“Mamma Doof” Theresa Anne Soper, a 48-year-old demolition worker, owns the Belfast Barn Bar on Main North Road, near Marshland Road.

Earlier reports indicated she charged teenagers to dance and party in a safe environment, and some of them brought alcohol to drink.

Security guards named “Guardians of the Doof” patrolled the parties, and Soper told Stuff that she donated the profits to teen charities.

In the Christchurch District Court, Justice of the Peace Drew Garden remanded Soper on bail to a case review hearing on February 8.
